BIOGRAPHY

Guillermo Martinez Castilla is a Scientific Project Officer at the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre, where he works on carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS) technologies. His role focuses on providing scientific evidence to support EU policymaking for industrial decarbonisation across key sectors.

Guillermo leads research on the techno-economic assessment of CCUS in hard-to-abate industries such as cement, iron and steel, and chemicals. His work helps shape sustainable strategies that advance Europe’s climate and energy transition goals.
